Breathing with the Earth – She is on her Way

I am falling in love with the conversations of the wind and the boulders of the mountain. I feel her resilience and courage, not her power. I am willing to reach into the darkness, to touch the quivering silence of the origin, enlivening the almost deadened roots of a bruised world.

Living in the Karoo landscape, I often feel like the dry bushes my-self, spreading across the landscape, living in the olive trees, extending over the mountains with the clouds, flirting with the hues of light in the clouds’ cheeks. I feel like the nocturnal aardvark, porcupines, kudus, and leopards that come and go in the procession of the seasonal curtains of rain, wind, and snow.
